Fida Sawalha, MD
Dr. Sawalha grew up in Amman, Jordan, with her parents and four siblings. She graduated with honors and gained acceptance into medical school at the University of Jordan. During her studies, she met her future husband, also a medical student. Both obtained their medical degrees from the University of Jordan Medical School in Amman in 2001. Their shared aspiration was to pursue advanced medical education in the United States, leading them to complete their Internal Medicine residency at the University of Buffalo, New York.
Following graduation, Dr. Sawalha practiced medicine in Maine for five years before accepting a position as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo. There, she found fulfillment in mentoring residents and conducting diabetes research, driven by her passion for enhancing diabetes care. This dedication prompted her to pursue a fellowship in Diabetes and Endocrinology.
After completing her fellowship, Dr. Sawalha relocated to Arizona, where she has since specialized in diabetes and endocrinology. Dr. Sawalha’s approach goes beyond just treating symptoms, she works with individuals who are ready to take control of their health journey. Whether it’s managing diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis or tackling weight loss goals, she is here to provide comprehensive care tailored to each unique individual.
Outside of her professional life, she cherishes time with her family, including her daughter and son. They share a love for travel, outdoor activities, and discovering new culinary experiences.
